This webinar will challenge coaches to think about the origins of ideas which inform their coaching practice. Together we will explore how sports coaches develop personal theories which drive coaching actions and outcomes, while considering how those personal theories might be either retained, refined, or rejected over time. As part of this work, we will consider how the notion of a 'theory versus practice' divide might be a sports coaching myth, and indeed all coaching practice is theory-laden. By the end of this webinar, we will become more aware of the theories which drive our work as sports coaches and begin to seek out 'better' ones as part of our ongoing coach development.
