The importance of choosing the right level

We believe it is important that you receive guidance according to your abilities. This not only makes riding more enjoyable for you, but is also much more pleasant for our lovely horses and ponies.

At each level, you will face new challenges that will help you continue to develop as a rider. From now on, you can also earn your rosettes with us.

  • Level 1 (beginners)
    • Have you never ridden a horse or pony on your own before? Then these introductory lessons are perfect for gaining your first experience. You will learn how to saddle and unsaddle, discover the basics of horse riding and have your first introduction to cantering. You will follow this course series in a small group of no more than 6 riders. Your instructor will decide when you are ready to progress to Level 2.

  • Level 2
    • During these lessons, we improve the basic skills in walk, trot and canter. We also work on refining the basic aids (independent seat, leg and rein aids). We focus on adopting a correct and relaxed position and teach you how to maintain your balance. This course series can be followed several times, until the instructor, in consultation with the sports coordinator, indicates that you are ready for the next level.

  • Level 3
    • Building on Level 2, we continue to develop the basic skills. We introduce the light seat and learn to ride individual cavaletti exercises at walk and trot in preparation for our first jumps. This level introduces many new skills, which is why the course series can be followed several times. Progression to Level 4 is determined by the sports coordinator in consultation with the instructor.

  • Level 4
    • We work on jumping a simple course while refining our aids (independent seat, leg and rein aids). We also further develop our knowledge of the different school figures. Progression to Level 5 takes place in consultation between the sports coordinator and the instructor.

  • Level 5
    • At this level, we learn to ride a course in a correct style. We focus on posture and seat, pace control and riding a correct line before and after the obstacles. We also refine the correct dressage seat and are introduced to lateral movements, flexion and bend.
